shop windows, what’s it all about?

Here at the Elsie Flo H.Q. our windows displays are always a topic for discussion. As some of you know we are based on a one way street heading out of Winky (as we locals call it) and so we have been know to almost drive passing cars into the bank opposite whilst they are admiring a new window display.

I have been showing off my vintage china in the windows for years. We have done teacups flying around a May pole, romantic wedding windows, high summer vintage style picnics to name a few. In more recent months with the styling and design consultancy side of the business expanding we have decided to have some fun with our windows. It’s not just about the now enormous vintage china collection we have but about showing off our creative skills too.

2013 is a year for creative thinking for us. Sending out a message, getting our public to think about what’s going on at Elsie Florence. At christmas we had a pop up shop for one night only. It was a great success. People were able to pop in, have a teacup of festive mulled wine whilst browsing through our vintage china showroom and purchasing our up cycled furniture and cushions. There’s more of our homeware on our website.

And so here we are again another new year and more new window displays. This is how we started the year.

The beginning of a new year brings new creative thinking, bright new ideas and they are all here at Elsie Florence.

January: ‘Bright here, bright now’ window.

Of course Valentines day is a must but it is only a day and not everyone may be feeling in love so we decided to focus on the Chinese new year. The year of the snake. The snake is intuitive, introspective and refined.

So what comes next? Mad as a March hare?

Time will tell but hopefully it will inspire you to think about styling an idea into a dream.
