Girls supper

What an inspiring and slightly loud and raucous bunch of gals I had for supper this week. My darling beloved has gone away for apparently a well deserved break with the boys skiing! Luckily I don’t apparently need a break!

Anyway what great fun was had by all. Picture the scene:

My great friend Victoria who refers to herslf as a cook. She is a fantastically brilliant cook so I always want to produce something delicious even though she wouldnt care what she ate, she comes for the fun. She is never short of a word to say and extremely funny. This is her new book which is very inspiring for girls like me who love to cook and try lots of different tastes.

Then there was her gorgeous sister who has lived in Nepal, tells the most amazing stories of her travels, works bloody hard as an incredibly good nurse and oozes loveliness.

Then there was another rare creative my friend who has the most fantastic bespoke wine shop cum bistro right here in Wincanton. Her shop is  a humdrum of creative people of which she sells some of their wares or exhibits their art in the room at the back. It’s worth coming to Wincanton to go there for lunch or if you don’t have enough time a coffee and homemade cake.

It was lovely to invite Pippi, the new girl in town. Not our town but down the road in Bruton. She is fantastic fun, a true artist and loves everything creative. She added sparkle whilst trying to understand our English sence of humour.

Our friend Suki always gets the party started and was so insired by my Turkish salsa starter with toasted chilli pitta bread strips that she was almost going home to try out the recipe for herself. She is off to Guatamala very soon so I can’t wait to here all about her adventure.

Scarlett had me in fits of laughter most of the evening. She wasn’t drinking as she was driving so I probably talked a lot of nonsence to her all night. She is very well read and gave me several titles I want to read but can’t now remember! I do remember discussing our husbands buying attempts at underwear! Say NO more!
